Welcome to Branson, Missouri.
Branson is a city located in Taney County, Missouri. It was named for Rueben Branson, operator of a general store in the area in the 1880s. As of the 2000 census, the city had a total population of 6,050. Branson, Missouri may be known for its variety of live theater shows and theme parks, but there truly is "something for everyone" in Branson.
In addition to the great shows, Branson also is surrounded by the beautiful Ozark Mountains and three lakes - Table Rock Lake, Lake Taneycomo and Bullshoals, where lake recreation and fishing abound. Shopping is available at three huge outlet malls, specialties shops and antique stores, where you can find just about anything you're looking for.
Branson is also known for great restaurants and award-winning golf courses. So take a little time to see all that Branson has to offer.
The primarily residential city's economy is based on tourism, especially to theaters offering live, often lavish country-music shows. With over 30 entertainment theaters, Branson draws millions of visitors annually. Other attractions include the Veterans Memorial Museum, the Roy Rogers - Dale Evans Museum, a scenic railroad, lakes, and caverns. Nearby is the College of the Ozarks.

In just ten years Branson has grown in to one of the world's most visited vacation destinations. Located in the heart of the Ozark Mountains, Branson holds claim to three mountain fed lakes surrounded by millions of acres of unspoiled mountain wilderness.
The pristine natural surrounding bring millions of visitors each year to the Branson Tri-Lakes area and the Quality Family Entertainment keeps them coming back.
The three main Lakes in the Branson Tri-Lakes area are Table Rock Lake, Bull Shoals Lake, and Lake Taneycomo. Together they combine to offer a combination of fishing boating, and water activities that is unsurpassed anywhere else in the world. Whether its fishing for "warm water" fish such as Large Mouth Bass or "cold water" fish such as Rainbow and Brown Trout, swimming, boating, water skiing, dinner and entertainment cruises, dinner on a "floating gourmet restaurant" or just a relaxing stroll on a nature trail or along the lake front in beautiful historic down town Branson Missouri, it is available for you to enjoy.
Branson has numerous museums, tourist attractions, over 100 shows, over 200 lodging choices, over 400 restaurants, 49 live performance theaters, three pristine lakes, 10 championship golf courses, dozens of festivals and events thoughout the year, nearby mountains, and wilderness areas.
Silver Dollar City, Celebration City, Dixie Stampede, White Water, Showboat Branson Belle, Branson's American Star, Stone Hill Winery, Ride The Ducks, The Tracks, and Splash Country are favorites.
Recognized as one of the most vibrant small communities in the country, Branson is an ideal place to start a business or enjoy retirement. A healthy economy and moderate cost of living mean that those looking for a place to "Have It All" need look no further than the Branson/Lakes Area.
While Branson is small in population, it has all the accoutrements of a large community...and then some! Combined with robust economy, well-funded schools and lovely residential areas, you'll find a community that cares about its neighbors. Although we can go on and on about this remarkable place, you really need to visit the area and see it for yourself.
